The Librarians Season 2 Finale: Time travel, Shakespeare's murder, and a 500-year-old kiss

The Librarians Season 2 finale ends with a split team doing time travel to battle the evil Prospero who tries to kill Shakespeare and make an eternal forest out of Earth in the 17th century. The good guys may have been parted but they win, and Flynn (Noah Wylie) and Eve (Rebecca Romjin) finally share a kiss 500 years in the making.

Although Syfy Channel produced only 10 episodes for "The Librarians" in one season, the plot twists, exciting surprises, complicated relationships an overall sense of fun keeps fans wanting for more. In this case, they would be looking forward to the season three premiere as season two ends with a jaw-dropping, but still happy finale in the episode "And the Final Curtain."

The Comic Book Movie teases with the promo prior to the airing that the evil Prospero somehow gets his magic back and goes back to the time of William Shakespeare. His objective - to transform the world into one giant forest similar to his home in Shakespeare's play "The Tempest." Naturally, Flynn and Eve travel in time in pursuit of him.

The Examiner gives us more of the story. Flynn and Eve find an unlikely ally in old enemy Moriarty who has his own grudge to settle against Prospero. As it turns out, Prospero possesses the body of Shakespeare himself and using his magic staff, starts turning the audience of his play into animals. Flynn, Eve, and Moriarty manage to cast out Prospero and defeat him once and for all. They do this with the emergence of Flynn's long-lost friend, Cal, who is the human incarnation of Excalibur, the magical sword of King Arthur. All's well that ends well as Flynn and Eve return to the 21st century, and resolve their differences once and for with be their first kiss.

TV Fanatic's review, though, promises to make the next season more mysterious and exciting. It hints that Flynn just might the modern reincarnation of King Arthur. After all, how come he and Excalibur suddenly got so cozy? Will the Lady of the Lake (Beth Riesgraf) make another appearance? And how will she fit into the team and their perpetual battle against evil?

Fans will just have to tune in in January at the Syfy Channel to find out.
