George P. Bush Files Campaign Documents, Nephew of George W. Bush to Run for Office in Texas

By

The nephew of former president George W. Bush, George P. Bush has submitted a campaign filing for the state of Texas according to reports by the Associated Press. The 36-year-old had expressed interest in running for office in the state of Texas, but has not disclosed which position he intends on running for, if at all he does.

The George P. Bush is the son of former Florida state governor, Jeb Bush. The young Bush runs a consultancy firm in Texas and is also co-founder of the Hispanic Republicans of Texas, a group, which helps Hispanic Americans, get elected.

According to reports, Bush submitted the campaigning filing early Wednesday at the Texas Ethics Commissions in Austin Texas. Filing such documentations is required by the state's financial laws. His filing will be reviewed by the Commissions.

Ana Navarro, former national Hispanic co-chairwoman for Senator John McCain during his run for presidency in 2008 told the Christian Monitor, "Wrote check for my friend, (at)georgepbush newly formed exploratory committee for office in TX. Young, pragmatic, Hispanic, just what GOP needs."

Aaron Pena, a Republican representing a part of Hidalgo County in the Rio Grande Valley, told the New York Times, ""George P. was recently our guest down here in the Valley, where we held an event for him...The level of excitement was through the roof. Here you have arguably the most famous family in American political history, embodied in a person who is much like ourselves. After the trouncing that Republicans received in losing the Hispanic vote in the recent presidential election, George P.'s candidacy is the sort of remedy that we're looking for."
