‘Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward’ updates & features: Upcoming patch to fix difficulty issues of game’s Alexander: Gordias (Savage) raid

By

Naoki Yoshida, the director of "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward", recently announced that developer Square Enix is currently working on a patch that will balance out the game's difficulty. Specifically, the director noted that the upcoming patch 3.2 will make the "Alexander: Gordias (Savage}" raid a bit easier for players.

Over at the Square Enix forum page, Yoshida explained that the difficulty of the raid was intentionally raised by developers in response to the request of some gamers. The problem, however, is that the raid became too challenging for some players to finish.

According to Yoshida, some complained that the difficulty level of the raid is forcing players to recruit other gamers from various in-game worlds just to complete it. Unfortunately, others were not able to finish the game because the time it takes for them to collect the necessary items was too long.

Although there are still a few gamers who enjoy playing through the raid, Yoshida admitted that its difficulty setting was poorly implemented. Because of this, Square Enix will release a new patch so that more gamers will be able to finish the game mode.

"With these balance adjustments, I believe the number of people who are able to clear this content will increase, and it will be possible to find parties to challenge this content on your own world," Yoshida stated in the post.

Aside from the difficulty adjustments, the upcoming patch will also come with new features for the game's Exploratory missions, according to PC Gamer. Some of these include the addition of objectives for the missions and the implementation of a new rewards system.

Patch 3.2 will be the latest content update for "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward." Earlier this month, Square Enix launched patch 3.15 which contained tweaks for the Anima Weapons, the Zodiac Weapon Zeta and the game's class system.

"Heavensward" is the first expansion pack released by the developers for the online game "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn." It came out in 2013 and is available for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 platforms.
