Minecraft Pocket Edition and Windows 10 Edition Update: Bug Fixes and Holiday DLC Now Available

By

The Minecraft Pocket and Windows 10 Edition just released a new holiday DLC with many new avatars featuring festive skins for the players, as well as a slight bug fix.

The entire pack includes unique avatars, which Xbox Wire lists as Gingerbread Creeper, Casual Comfy, Tomte, Snug Snoozy, Puffed Padded, Warm Wooly, Parka?, Jumper?, Father Christmas, Mother Christmas, Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, Toy Crafter, Red-Nose and Tasty Gingerbread. The skin packs also feature additional geometry to their designs, making features such as tassels, hat rims and sleeves to pop out from the character. This is a first for the Minecraft Windows 10 and Pocket editions skinpacks and texture packs.

The Festive Skin Pack was released on December 16 and is available for $1.99, but two of the skins (Warm Wooly, Jumper?) are available for free. Mojang has also announced that they have managed to get rid of some bugs for both editions, though they won't say which, and will improve the function of the game when the players play it. They also teased a photo and said that the next update will feature some new tweaks and the addition of a much-requested feature that was present in the base game.

Earlier on, Redstone was finally added into both games, finally letting players experience building more complicated mechanical structures and such on their mobile devices. The Redstone blocks have always been present in the Pocket Edition, but due to technological and hardware limitations of mobile devices a few years ago, the implementation of Redstone and Redstone circuitry has always been put in the backseat up until now.

Minecraft Pocket Edition is available for mobile devices (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Amazon) for $6.99, while Minecraft Windows 10 is available for $10 at this time for those who want to avail of the beta phase, with a free trial version and is free to those who already have Minecraft.
