Development studio Square Enix has just released a new trailer for "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" which also showcases a few scenes from the third "Kingdom Hearts" game. Based on the video posted on YouTube, the forthcoming game in the popular video game franchise will feature new maps based on popular Disney films.
The majority of the clip, which is over five minutes long, is dedicated to "Final Chapter Prologue." But, after the three-minute mark, the trailer shows off gameplay sequences from the upcoming "Kingdom Hearts 3."
The first scene in the snippet features series protagonist Sora accompanied by Goofy and Donald Duck as they fight against various creatures in a world based on Disney's animated film "Tangled." Also, as shown in the trailer, gamers will be able to summon theme park attraction rides and use them as combat vehicles.
Entertainment Weekly reported that the game will also contain a map based on Disney's 2014 animated film "Big Hero 6." The news site noted that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will also feature the film's main character Baymax.
As for "Final Chapter Prologue," PlayStation Lifestyle noted that "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8" will come with the visually-enhanced iteration of "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance." In addition, it will contain the computer-generated movies for "Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover" and a new story mode "A Fragmentary Passage," which takes place after "Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth By Sleep."
Although a teaser clip has already been released showing off certain gameplay elements of these two games, it is not yet clear when these titles will debut. But, as mentioned in the video's description section, the "HD 2.8" installment in the "Kingdom Hearts" series will come out in 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. It is not yet clear when the third main "Kingdom Hearts" title will come out but the game is set to arrive for Sony's next-gen console and Microsoft's Xbox One.
