Android 7.0 N features split-screen feature? Google I/O to introduce developer preview in June

By

Although not many devices have received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow yet, several speculations have already surfaced on the next Android 7.0 N. The new OS is rumored to include new improvements as well as the split-screen feature.

As reported by Latin Post, Google is hard at work with new improvements on the new OS. Android and Chrome UK director Glen Murphy specified that they are working on multi-window capability on their platform.

"We are working hard on a variety of enhancements in this form factor, we have been spending lots of time on a multi-window capability and hopefully, we can share more information about this development soon", Murphy stated.

While it has not been confirmed where the new feature will be first showcased, rumors suggest that it could be included in the Android 7.0 N. However, according to Independent, the new feature could also appear in the Android 6.1 Marshmallow update which will also include new app permissions, and bug fixes.

Although nothing is set in stone yet, the new split-screen feature is expected to arrive in Android as it has been already been utilized by both Windows and iOS. The new feature is expected to let users multi-task by using several tabs at once.

According to Android Updater, the new OS is likely to be introduced during Google I/O 2016 which is rumored to take place in June. However, only the Developer Preview might be made available during the event.

The release of the new Android 7.0 N is currently rumored to happen in September or October which could first be featured in the most latest Nexus handset unveiled around the same time.

Several other claims also suggest that the next Huawei and Google's Nexus 7 might be the first device to feature the new Android 7.0 N OS but until Google confirms these details, all information must be treated with a grain of salt for now.
