Co-showrunner John Collier revealed what's in store for Booth and Brennan in "Bones" Season 11B and if the show will continue for season 12. While Michael Peterson spilled that the return of the series will be darker.
Co-executive producer John Collier discussed with TV Line about what's in store for Booth and Brennan in "Bones" Season 11B. Collier stated, "Something from outside is going to happen and it's going to put them, as a couple, underdress.
Last year, we did Booth's (David Boreanaz) gambling [problem] re-awakening and threatening their relationship - that was something that was happening between them. Now it's an external force that's going to threaten them."
When asked if the show will continue for season 12, Collier said, "Right now we're approaching it as if the show is coming back, but... we could turn [the script] either way. Our hope is to keep things going into next year."
On the other hand, executive producer Michael Peterson hinted that fans should expect a darker storyline in the return of the series. According to Entertainment Weekly, Peterson revealed they are planning to add a serial killer and that they are working on a horror-themed episode. The executive producer even warned the fans that they must not watch that particular episode alone at home, since it will be the scariest episode in "Bones" Season 11.
Moreover, Peterson also teased fans via TV Guide about the probable plot for episode 12. Peterson stated that Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) is going to be wheelchair-bound in the next episodes. Because of that, his wife Angela (Michaela Conlin) will make Sebastian Kohl (Gill Darnell) as her confidante.
"Bones" Season 11 is set to return with its 12th episode anytime soon around March or April 2016 exclusively on FOX. "Bones" is an American crime procedural comedy-drama TV series created by Hart Hanson. The storyline is based on forensic anthropology and archaeology, with each episode focusing on various FBI case files brought by Special Agents Seeley Booth and Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan.
