'Iron Man 4' Cast Update: No more Robert Downey Jr.? Who could probably replace him?

By

The franchise of Iron Man has been repeatedly played by Robert Downey Jr. However, it seems like that for its fourth movie, Downey won't be able to reprise the iconic character of Tony Stark Iron Man. Marvel seems to look out for possible actors who would replace him for the role of the superhero.

According to Parent Herald, in his interview with Ellen DeGeneres in her show, it seems like Downey Jr. is hinting the general public that his comeback as Tony Stark in Iron Man 4 has low probability. So with that news, the role for the character is vacant and Marvel are on look for an actor that could compete with how Downey Jr. did the role and exude the character well.

Lists of actors that are being considered as Downey Jr.'s replacement for the role circulates the media already. In an article written by Australia Network News, on top of their list is the kid that played as Stark's sidekick, Ty Simpkins. But questions of him being too young for the role are being raised. Aside from that, Marvel seems to consider also Leonardo DiCaprio, Jon Hamm, Colin Farell and Luke Evans.

However, if Marvel is to seriously take Simpkins as the next Iron Man, hints about the plot of Iron Man 4 are being cooked. Based on the article of Movie News Guide, Iron Man may be training him to be the next Iron Man. But still, there is nothing definitive about what could happen for Iron Man 4 as Marvel are yet to announce plans about the movie.

Talks about Downey Jr. being replaced for Iron Man 4 rose when he asked for a raise on his fee as reported by Parent Herald. Furthermore, Downey Jr. anticipates that the film will be a hit once it is out that is why he is in talks with Marvel regarding his talent fee.

Downey Jr. to still play as Iron Man for its next installment seems to be quite low right now. Fans of Tony Stark and Downey Jr. may have to prepare to see a new actor to play as Iron Man once it is released on theaters.
