EXO Kris, Girls Generation Jessica Jung reunite on Chinese variety show

By

EXO former member Wu Yifan who is also known with his stage name as Kris met together with his former label mate Girls' Generation ex-member Jessica Jung in a variety show in China called "Day Day Up".

During the filming of the episode where the two former SM Entertainment artists participated, they cutely re-enacted some famous lines from dramas, causing laughter and response of adoration from the audience.

To convey a message that she indeed enjoyed it, Jessica posted a photo of her on Weibo with a caption that reads "I had so much fun today."

The Chinese fans are excited about the team-up of the "Ice Princess" Jessica and equally "Ice Prince" Wu Yifan so that the two stars trended on Weibo taking first and fifth place in the real-time rankings.

Meanwhile, some are getting perplexed at the sudden boom of friendship between the two former label mates. As much as public appearances are concerned, Jessica and Kris barely interacted with one another during their time in the agency.

Could the instant friendship be a marketing ploy to raise their respective careers? Jessica is rumored to be preparing her solo album and Kris has a multitude of projects going on including his latest single "Bad Girl." He is also casted in Guan Hu's action comedy film "Mr. Six," "L.O.R.D.: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties," and a romantic movie titled "Summer Tears in Paradise".

The two stars first met after leaving the company during December of last year at "Sohu Fashion Awards" in Shanghai, China where they were seated next to each other. Since then, Wu Yifan has been seen multiple times wearing Jessica's products called "Blanc and Eclare" and even followed one another on Weibo and Instagram.

While the Chinese fans are ecstatic with the blossoming friendship, the Korean netizens seem apathetic at the recent interactions between the two.

"The two who left SM met up... well, not like there's any reason for there to be bad blood between them so who cares," "China is where the money's at, after all," and some even pointed out the sudden change of behavior of the usually chic and cold idols commenting, "The Chinese market is so much more profitable that everyone's going over there to act like clowns, tsk".

Whether it is indeed a media ploy or a real interest of friendship, the two artists are hanging out more often these days and either of them has yet to reveal information about it. For all people know, it could be their little payback to their former agency SM Entertainment for having to go through disputes with the company.

The fans are anticipating the EXO ex-member Wu Yifan and the former Ice Princess of Girls' Generation Jessica's episode of "Day Day Up" that will air this January on Hunan TV in China.
