Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally opens and everyone went to savor every bits of frame from the movie - except the credits at the end of the movie. The name of Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader and Ben Schwartz was spotted at the end credits of The Force Awakens as 'Vocal Consultant' of BB-8.
The new lovable rolling droid in Star Wars: The Force awakens seems imbued with a touch of humanity. And indeed that's because BB-8's voice wasn't some computer made on Jakku or created in the same way that R2-D2's was. This is how actor and comedian Bill Hader described his contribution on the film,
"JJ f**king around with this sound effects app on his iPad that was attached to a talk box operated by me. It looked ridiculous but it made BB-8's voice. At first I tried doing a voice, but we all agreed it sounded too human."
It's amazing and no Star Wars fan expected that to happen. Bill Hader has been very busy lately. His projects includes"South Park and was also shared his voice in Pixar's "Inside Out". He is truly emerging as one of the few versatile actors in Hollywood. Meanwhile Ben Schwartz, known for his spectacular work as Jean-Ralphio on "Parks and Recreation", was also credited as BB-8's vocal consultant.
Also, Star Trek actor Simon Pegg is also seen in The Force Awakens. Earlier this year he was rumored to have a role in Star Wars Episode VII. Pegg was shown on set in a costume as some unearthly creature and said "My whole life has led to this moment."
Though fans did not saw Simon Pegg's face in the movie, it is obvious that his comedic gestures will still be recognizable among fans through the body of a new alien. It's just reasonable as Simon Pegg already worked previously with J.J Abrams on Star Trek and was a big fan of Star Wars.
The reviews are out for Star Wars: The Force Awakens! Have you seen it already? Let us know what you think of BB-8's voice? Can you sense Bill Hader's force? Can you tell what alien did Simon Pegg played?
