Samsung announced the Chromebook 3G on Friday, for which pre-orders are now available.
According to the latest report, the South Korean company is making the Chromebook available with in a 3G version in addition to the Wii-Fi model.
Here are some things to know about the Chromebook:
Price - The Chromebook will sell for $329.99. According to CNET, "For that price, customers get all of the features available in the Wi-Fi-only model."
Features: The Chromebook, like the Wii-Fi model will have an 11.6 inch display screen with a resolution of 1366 X 768. The device has a 1.7 GHz and a 2 GB Ram with a 16 GB storage. The Chromebook also has the Samsung Exynos 5 dual core processor.
3G Features: The device is available in Verizon wireless 3G WWAN with a free monthly cell phone data plan for up to two years. The data plan will have up to 100 MB.
Criticism: No 4G LTE. According to Betanews.com, "Considering the other Chromebook bears a $249 price-tag, paying $80.99 more may seem a bit far fetched. The price would be more compelling if the computer had 4G LTE instead. That's a good question for Samsung to answer: Why no LTE support?"
Similarities to Apple's device? Well, it might come as no surprise that once again techies find similarities with an Apple product. Joe Wilcox of betanews.com said, "But I'll say this. There's no mistaking the design similarities to MacBook Air, which can't be accidental. Will performance be good enough, by comparison? Testing will tell."
