Presidential Elections: Westgate Resorts CEO David Siegel Warns Employees of Lay-offs if Obama wins November Elections, Is This Coercive Voting?

By

The CEO of Westgate Resorts David Siegel sent a mass email to all his employees telling them that if President Barrack Obama got re-elected he would have to either lay-off a number of employees or be forced to shut down the company.

According to NBC News the email was sent out to employees on Monday. An excerpt from the email goes as follows:

"If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company...Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone," as reported by NBC News.

Siegel also went to add "people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn't. The people that overspent their paychecks suddenly feel entitled to the same luxuries that I earned and sacrificed 42 years of my life for."

Seigel claims that as a result of the Obama's administration proposed tax-increases as well as the Obamacare i.e. the Affordable Health Care, Seigel will have to layoff as many as 7,000 workers or shut down the entire company.

While one can look at the email and claim that Seigel was merely being honest with his employees, others can accuse Seigel of coercing his employees to vote for a certain candidate by threatening to take away his/her job.

However Seigel says that his intentions are not to frighten anyone to vote a certain way, "I can't tell anyone to vote," he said, "I want my employees to be educated on what could happen to their future if the wrong person is elected."
