On Tuesday, Dash told Piers Morgan on his show on CNN "I chose him not by the color of his skin, but the content of his character." According to the New York Daily, the actress "evoked Martin Luther King" to defend her choice for president in the up coming November elections.

When asked if she was offended by the plethora of negative tweets she received, Dash responded, "I don't feel offended. I just feel that, you know, as a country, this is my choice...This is the man [Romney] I want to lead my country," as reported by the New York Daily.

Earlier this week, the actress better known for her role as the best friend of Alicia Silverstone in the hit 90s film Clueless, took to Twitter on the weekend to show her support for the Republican presidential nominee of 2012, Mitt Romney.

Her tweet garnered a lot of attention, most of it not very positive. The reason of this has a lot to with Dash's race. The Huffington Post says that her endorsement "brings race to the issue." Many angry followers took to Twitter saying:

"You're an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot," says Tretista Kelverian on his Twitter page ‏@iLoveJoeyNoHomo.
