After months of anticipation, the Cupertino company finally launched the iPhone 5 on 12 September. But now that iPhone 5 is out there, all those iPhone 5 owners are patiently waiting for the new lightning connector. According to Web Pronews Technology, Apple has finally started shipping out the new connector. The website reports that customers could be receiving their new accessories as soon as October 9.
Apple's new lightning connector will be replacing the old 30-pinpoint connector, which means all previous iPhone accessories will be useless for the new phone. Apple, however is making a new adapter available so that users can make their new phone compatible with a 30-point stereo.
And Although Sean Patterson of WebPro News calls the new connector "Elegant," many Apple users have expressed unhappiness about the new amendment. According to a number of online forums, Apple users have expressed the new connector as one of the things they least liked about the new smartphone.
Even though this not a real complaint, many consumers feel that by replacing the new dock-connector, they are forced to spend unnecessary money on new cords and new accessories. And not just that! But all their other Apple cords and accessories have now been relegated useless.
In the meantime, Apple's iPhone 5 sales have been on a high. According to Black Friday Magazine, iPhone 5 sold over five million units over within three days and the new iOS6 program had over 100 million downloads.
Cook told the magazine, "Demand for iPhone 5 has been incredible and we are working hard to get an iPhone 5 into the hands of every customer who wants one as quickly as possible... While we have sold out of our initial supply, stores continue to receive iPhone 5 shipments regularly and customers can continue to order online and receive an estimated delivery date. We appreciate everyone's patience and are working hard to build enough iPhone 5s for everyone."
