On Tuesday, Hollywood mourns the death of actor Michael Clarke Ducan who died Monday in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles of heart related problems. Ducan was 54.
Ducan's publicist released a statement on the actor's death, "he suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered...Manigault (Ducan's finace) is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date," as reported by the Washington Post.
Duncan acted in a number of acclaimed films such as "The Green Mile" (1999), "Armageddon" (1998), "Kung Fu Panda" (2008), and "Planets of the Apes" (2001). In 1999 Ducan was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as in the supporting-actor category.
Tuesday, Hollywood take to various social media and traditional media to mourn the death of who the Washington Post calls the "the gentle giant." Green Mile co-star Tom Hanks tells the newspaper, "terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of 'The Green Mile.' He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned."
TV Show anchor Billy Bush posted on his Twitter page @billybush "RIP Michael Clark Duncan. This is devastating. Never did a man's smile fill the room brighter. A truly lovely guy."
Steve Harvey, comedian said "I will miss my friend, Michael Clarke Duncan," on his twitter page, @iamsteveharvey.
