According to reports, online retailer Amazon.com will confirm the launch of the Kindle Fire 2 on September 6 at a conference to be held in Las Angeles according to the Christian Post. The article also says that Amazon will be announcing the advent of its first smartphone at the same conference.
Earlier this week, Amazon announced earlier that its popular reader cum tablet -the Kindle Fire was sold out and was no longer in stock. The announcement has led a number of tech speculators to reinforce rumors that the Kindle Fire 2 is set to release on September 6.
According to WebProNews, the founder and CEO of Amazon.com, Jeff Bezos said, "We're grateful to the millions of customers who have made Kindle Fire the most successful product launch in the history of Amazon... This has been a big year for digital products on Amazon-all of the top 10 sellers on Amazon.com since Kindle Fire launched just less than a year ago are digital products. Kindle Fire is sold out, but we have an exciting roadmap ahead-we will continue to offer our customers the best hardware, the best prices, the best customer service, the best cross-platform interoperability, and the best content ecosystem."
Zach Walton of WebProNews says that the fact that Amazon has announced that its popular Kindle Fire has sold out is a sure hint to the approaching day of Kindle Fire 2's release. "Amazon isn't saying it, but they are obviously setting up for some big Kindle news next week," says Walton on the website.
The Kindle Fire 2 is rumored to surface markets around the same time Apple plans to launch its iPad mini. The two products will be competing against the other, along with the Google Nexus 7.
According to the Christian Post, Amazon wants the second generation Kindle Fire out in the markets before Apple gets their iPad mini out.
