Now that the news that "girlfriend," singer Avril Lavingne is engaged to Nickelback lead singer Chad Kroeger, everyone wants to know about the ring.
Apparently, as it appears on the soon-to-be wed couple appears on the cover of Hello Canada with the massive 14-carat diamond ring. According to reports the ring is pear-cut diamond, which the 37-year-old Kroeger purchased at the XIV Karat Beverly Hills, which is as estimated by a jeweler at BlueNile pits out to cost nearly around $800,000 according to OMG! for Yahoo News.
The two stars developed an affection for each other while recording for Lavigne's upcoming album in February. Sources say that the Grammy Winner popped the question to Lavigne on the last day of recording.
There are no reported dates on the big day. However a friend of Lavigne told People that the couple is just "They haven't set a date yet...They're really enjoying this moment," the friend later went to add, "They have the same values and really understand each other... They complement each other and are so happy," as reported on the magazine's website.
27-year-old Lavigne said of her new fiancé, "He makes me laugh every day...He takes care of me in every way and is extremely attentive," as reported by Yahoo News.
Another family member tells People, "She is glowing...Just looking at them, you can see how much he adores her."
The Canadian singer, Lavigne rose to fame in 2002 for her hit "complicated," and then in 2007 she delivered the smash-hit song "Girlfriend." In 2005, she married Deryck Whibley lead singer and guitarist for Sum 41, but filed for divorce in 2009. Whibley, however continues to produce music with his ex-wife.
Kroeger is the lead singer of the popular rock band NickelBack. The 37-year-old Canadian co-writes and produces music with other singers such as Chris Daughtry and Tim McGraw.
