Serena Williams Makes David Letterman’s Eyes Pop: The Dress that Wowed Late Night Talk Show Host (Watch Video)

By

As tennis player Serena Williams walked on the stage of late night talk show David Letterman on Wednesday night, the number one tennis player hit another grand slam with that figure hugging red dress that even 65-year old Letterman could not help but gawk.

"You look great," said Letterman.

"Yea I saw your eyes almost popping," responded Serena.

"Well, that was not the only thing," retorted the 65-year-old comedian.

And that was not the end to the double meaning conversation that had just burgeoned between the two.

"Do you ever play in an outfit like this...wouldn't that be great," he said.

"Wouldn't that be great," agreed the 30-year-old tennis champ, "of course I wouldn't get to any balls," as the audience laughed and the pun intended response.

Aside from her alluring appearance, Letterman did ask her about her experience of winning the Gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. She explained what being a golden slam winner meant- that if a player won all the grand-slam titles and then won the Olympic Gold then he/she is said to have a golden slam.

Serena is considered one of the best players of all time; she ranks ninth on the list. She is one of the five women in tennis history to win all four Grand Slam titles. She also the only player (male or female) to win the Golden Grand Slam in both singles and doubles, along with sister Venus Williams.

The U.S. Tennis Open starts Monday, August 27.
