Tuesday, the reality-star Evelyn Lozada announced that she was filing for divorce from husband of 41 days, former Miami Dolphins' Chad Johnson.
It's a rough couple of days for the former Miami Dolphins' player Chad Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco. Three days ago, he was caught in an incident of domestic violence, when his wife Lozada accused him of literally butting heads with her causing lacerations that required the Basketball Wives' reality star to be rushed to a hospital. Johnson was arrested and taken into police custody.
Lozada released a statement telling People.com "Domestic violence is not okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well," she later told the Chicago Tribune that her marriage was "irretrievably broken" and that there was nothing left to do but file for divorce. The couple married on the 4th of July. The couple has been married for 41-days.
Johnson finally took to Twitter to break his long silence since the incident telling fans and followers, "I haven't had to tread water in a long time.... Special thank you to my fans...family...friends for keeping me afloat..." as it appeared on his Twitter page @ochocinco.
Johnson argued that it was the Lozada who started to head-butt him. In the latest report by the Chicago Tribune, the reality star says that the altercation started when she discovered a receipt for a box of condoms in her husband's car. Radaronline.com reports that Johnson was allegedly cheating on Lozada for months with a 30-year-old woman from Boston, who has been identified as Beverly Shiner.
Johnson also lost his job with the Miami Dolphins. The entire conversation if his firing with the head coach Joe Philbin is featured in the reality TV show "Hard Rocks," in which Coach Philbin is seen telling the 34-year-old, "I think it's best for both of us that we kinda part ways at this point in time," as reported by Yard Barker.
