After her departure from NBC's Today Show with Matt Lauer in June, journalist and Newscaster Ann Curry returns back to the show in London to cover the 2012 London Olympics. It was her first public interaction with former co-host Lauer since.
During her tearful farewell to the show, Lauer announced that Curry would be covering the Olympics along with her in London, but viewers expected the 55-year-old to appear on the show much sooner than on the 14th day of the games.
Curry interviewed rising photographer Adam Pretty, whose photographic coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics has created quite an excitement in the media and among viewers. Petty, 21-year-old Australian told Curry "Risk is good...Most of the time," on the show.
While fans must be glad to see Curry return to her place by Lauer, many in the media are talking about the reporter's stoic and reserved demeanor on the show. Although always polite, Curry did not engage in trying to recreate any of the old-magical rapport with her former co-host.
The New York Daily was quick to point out that Curry, who claimed to be criticized by the network for her gray hair, flaunted it again in the interview with Pretty. In an August interview with Ladies Home Journal, Curry confessed, "I've got gray hair because I won't dye it..."I'm going to see how it goes. I don't know if it's going to be tolerated. I know women who work on TV haven't been allowed to go gray in the past," as reported on nydailynews.com
Curry was replaced by Savannah Guthrie in June. Recently, she appeared on NBCs Dateline special coverage and also did a special report on the Colorado movie theater massacre for the Today Show
