iPhone 5 Release Date: Apple Must Issue Apology to Samsung Denying Similarity between the iPad and Galaxy Tablet

By

A U.K. judge ordered Apple to publish a notice on the internet and in traditional media informing people that Samsung's Galaxy Tablet is not an imitation of Apple's iPad, also bring to attention the court decision that ruled in favor of the South Korean company vindicating it from plagiarizing the iPad's designs for its Galaxy tablet.

According to Judge Corin Birss, Apple must publish the notice on its U.K. websites and keep it there for six months to ensure that sufficient time is allotted for people to become aware of the news. The order comes as an effort to expunge charges pitted against Samsung's tablet so that it gets a fair chance in the market.

Early this month on July 9, the U.K. Court under Judge Briss settled the heated tussle between the two technology giants over patent issues involving Samsung's Galaxy Tablet that Apple claimed infringed on patents of its very popular iPad. The British High Court ruled that since Samsung's Galaxy Tablet only superciliously resembles the iPad, but not enough to be considered on its patent design.

Judge Birss released a statement saying, "They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool," he said. "The overall impression produced is different," according to Reuters.

The two monstrous tech companies are in litigation with one another in more than 10 different countries over patent issues.

Samsung released a statement as follows: "Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims in other countries based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited," as reported on Reuters.

In turn Apple released a statement in direct rebuttal to the South Korean company on Reuters, "It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging."

Last month, a Court in the U.S. upheld a ban on the sales of Samsung's hot-selling smartphone Samsung Galaxy S3, which Apple has already implemented.

Rumors are floating around in the tech world that Apple is moving the release date of the iPhone 5 to August instead of November in light of the highly successful sales of Samsung's Galaxy S3. However, it is to be noted that Apple has not yet released any statement about the iPhone 5. The behavior is typical for the tech giant, which often refrains from commenting on speculations about any of its products. In the end the company is noted for doing things on its own terms.
