iPhone Release Date: Samsung Wins Lawsuit with Apple

By

In a heated tussle between Apple and Samsung over patent issues involving Samsung's Galaxy Tablet that Apple claimed infringed on patents of its very popular iPad, a British High Court ruled that saying Samsung's Galaxy Tablet only superciliously resembles the iPad, but not enough to be considered on its patent design.

Judge Corin Birss released a statement saying, "They do not have the same understated and extreme simplicity which is possessed by the Apple design. They are not as cool," he said. "The overall impression produced is different," according to Reuters.

The two monstrous tech companies are in litigation with one another in more than 10 different countries over patent issues.

Samsung released a statement as follows: "Should Apple continue to make excessive legal claims in other countries based on such generic designs, innovation in the industry could be harmed and consumer choice unduly limited," as reported on Reuters.

In turn Apple released a statement in direct rebuttal to the South Korean company on Reuters, "It's no coincidence that Samsung's latest products look a lot like the iPhone and iPad, from the shape of the hardware to the user interface and even the packaging."

Recently a Court in the U.S. upheld a ban on the sales of Samsung's hot-selling smartphone Samsung Galaxy S3, which Apple has already implemented.

Rumors are floating around in the tech world that Apple is moving the release date of the iPhone 5 to August instead of November in light of the highly successful sales of Samsung's Galaxy. Apple is currently in litigation with the South Korean company over patent issues. On Wednesday Apple implemented a court injunction that banned the sales of the Galaxy Nexus.
