BELLEFONTE, Pa. - Two accusers took to stand on the second day of trial in the Sandusky case today, but it was the emotional testimony of the second accuser that garnered all the attention.
The second accuser, now 18, but then was 11, said that he had met the former coach while participating in Sandusky's Second Mile charity. The accuser, known as victim 1, claimed that he would sleep over at Sandusky's house, where he would perform oral sex on the 11-year-old and then would ask him to do the same. The accuser stated that even the school counselor did not believe him, according to the Washington Post.
Upon distancing himself from the coach, the accuser said that Sandusky would constantly attempt to pursue him, until, his (the accuser's) mother called a state youth service agency to investigate into the matter.
After being questioned by prosecutor Joseph McGettigan for a little less than an hour, the accuser broke down in tears. On being cross-examined by Joe Amendola, Sandusky's lawyer, Amendola tried to demonstrate that accuser had changed stories.
In the opening sentences Monday, Amendola questioned the fact that in no instances of the eight accusers was the police ever called, even by Michael McQueary, the prosecutor's star witness, a former assistant coach to Sandusky.
The ex-Penn State football coach, Jerry Sandusky has been charged with 52 counts of sexual abuse and molestation of young boys during his reign as associate football coach at the University. Prosecutors say that Sandusky had molested over 10 young boys over the span of 15 years. Sandusky has repeatedly denied all charges and claims not-guilty.
