Greensboro, N.C. - After 9 days of deliberations jury finally reaches a verdict on john Edwards's case Thursday, but only on one of the six counts. The verdict is yet to be announced.
Judge, Catherine Eagle, has issued an "Allen Charge," according to CNN, which essentially requests the court to allow jurors to return to deliberations so that a unanimous decision can be reached on all counts.
The protracted duration of deliberation has left the public and media alike anxious and tad bit chafed.
The 12 panel jury consisting of eight men and four women has spent nine days deliberating whether Edwards "knowingly and willingly" violated the campaign finance law in order to find him guilty.
Former Senator John Edwards was accused of using campaign finances to cover up his then pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter during his 2008 run for presidency. He was charged with six felony counts for corruption. Edwards, 58, pleaded not guilty to all charges.
