Baker & McKenzie Taipei Tops 2012 Chambers & Partners Taiwan Rankings

Baker & McKenzie has clinched the leading position in the 2012 Chambers & Partners legal directory rankings for Taiwan. Ranked Band 1 across nine practice areas and Band 2 in the tenth, the Firm has consolidated its position as the leading Firm in Taiwan, outstripping its local and global competitors.

Henry Chang, Managing Partner of Baker & McKenzie Taipei and himself a Chambers leading lawyer in Corporate & M&A and in Technology, Media and Telecoms, said on release of the Chambers 2012 rankings, "We thank our clients for their continued support and commendation for our work on significant cross-border deals, and some of the highest-value and highest-profile projects in Taiwan."

Clients for whom Baker & McKenzie acted and cited by Chambers include Asia Pacific Land during its NT$3 billion acquisition of a commercial property in western Taipei from a subsidiary of Continental Engineering; Want Want on its US$2.4 billion acquisition of multiple cable TV system operators in Taiwan; EQT on its acquisition of Gala TV; Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank in syndicated credit facilities agreement for Ju Teng International Holdings; and Comestibles Master Co Ltd in one of the few IPOs by foreign companies on the Taiwan stock exchange, with a deal value of approximately NT$48 billion.
