DLA Piper today announces the appointment of Justin Conway as a partner in its London Restructuring practice. Justin joins DLA Piper from Goldman Sachs where he was an Executive Director and Senior Counsel.
Whilst at Goldman Sachs, Justin built a reputation as a highly regarded practitioner in the EMEA debt trading market. His role was to provide transactional legal advice to the private distressed bank loan and high yield loan trading desks. In this role he was involved in all aspects of par and distressed loan trading and investment; claim trading and investment; and loan credit default swap trading.
Stephen Halladay, DLA Piper's International Head of Restructuring said: "as a result of the current economic situation in Europe, one of the trends beginning to emerge is the transfer of debt from traditional lenders to funds of various descriptions. This will lead to a more dynamic market for trading debt in the UK and Europe. With Justin's appointment we are ensuring the strategic development of the practice and the firm to best take advantage of these changes and enhancing the firm's offering as a start to finish debt trading advisory service. We welcome Justin to DLA Piper and very much look forward to working with him."
Justin added: "DLA Piper has an exceptional presence and a strong global reputation, and I'm delighted to be joining such a dynamic firm. I look forward to contributing my expertise to help current clients of the Restructuring practice and the firm, as well as new clients, keep pace with a changing market through a comprehensive understanding of the secondary debt trading markets on both a technical and strategic level."
