Hogan Lovells announced today that David Delman has joined its Litigation, Arbitration and Employment practice in Houston as a partner.

Delman’s 25-year career includes a combination of experience as in-house and external litigation counsel. With a focus on the resolution of domestic and international construction and commercial disputes as well as construction claims management, he has served as first chair on numerous complex arbitrations under various arbitral rules, such as ICC and UNICTRAL and has guided the successful resolution of many other global disputes in multicultural environments as a lead litigation partner and as an executive officer of a publicly traded engineering, procurement, and construction company.

“With his insights and perspective as a former General Counsel, David will be a significant asset to Hogan Lovells’ clients in the engineering, construction, and energy sectors, among others,” said Thad Dameris, Managing Partner of Hogan Lovells' Houston office.

“Serving global clients requires an unparalleled international legal platform with a worldwide reputation for excellence. Hogan Lovells provides such a platform and is the perfect place for me to represent and advise clients in the United States, Latin America, and beyond,” said David Delman.

Delman will focus his practice at Hogan Lovells on, among other things, the representation of clients in commercial, construction, engineering, fiduciary, professional liability, and oil and gas/energy disputes in domestic and international forums as well as the negotiation of contracts, joint venture, and teaming agreements in the engineering and construction industry.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Delman was Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & Secretary with Chicago Bridge & Iron N.V. During his tenure, he led a team of 20 lawyers worldwide serving all divisions of the company. Prior to that, he was a partner and head of the construction practice group of a law firm located on the East Coast of the United States, where he focused on the resolution of domestic and international engineering, construction, and commercial disputes, and previously served as Associate General Counsel with a major international engineering, procurement, and construction company.
