Couple Emily VanCamp and Josh Bowman bid each other goodbye, but only on their onscreen tandem following the death of the latter's character in the show.
In a recent episode of "Revenge" season 4, Daniel Jayson (portrayed by Bowman) was shown dying in the arms of his ex-wife, Emily Thorne (played by VanCamp), after he was shot.
Show creator Sunil Nayar claimed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that killing off Daniel in the series was the best thing to do as the character has already reached its climax point.
"We were thinking about the journey of Daniel, and thought it would be fun and challenging for us to try to redeem him - we brought him and Emily closer together - and then pull the rug out [from viewers]. We got great emotion and a great story out of that," Nayar said.
He also revealed that Bowman was happy with how his character exited from the show. Nayar shared, "He was great. He was completely on board and really wanted to make sure if and when Daniel's journey ended, that it was something that was surprising and redemption. That was important to him and us; we didn't want it to be meaningless, or come out of something evil or vile."
With Daniel's exit in the show, Emily will reportedly be building up a new romance with another character.
International Business Times reported that she will be shown cozying up with another guy when season 4 returns next year.
"I think you're going to start to see the real connection between [Ben] and Emily. There's a kindness he feels towards Emily and kinship we're going to step on more," revealed Nayar in an interview with E! Online.
