Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Schedule for Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, Note 4, S5

Several Samsung devices were confirmed to receive the latest Android version when the company's roadmap for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update was leaked previously. Currently, the Android M update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge Plus, Note Edge, Note 4, and S5 under major carriers in U.S like Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint are already underway with nearing release dates.

According to Tech Times, the beta Android 6.0 Marshmallow update has finally arrived to Samsung's 2015 flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6. This beta upgrade is just limited to a handful of users in the UK and did not make its way to users in the U.S.

However, Samsung is no longer accepting new participants for the beta. Despite this, there have been a lot of images showing the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge handsets on Android 6.0. The photos revealed a few changes that the upgraded OS brought to the units' interface.

The status bar and quick toggles menus are now fully white instead of blue while the power menu has been redesigned. A few app icons have been altered as well.

Meanwhile, Gospel Herald reported that the first phase of Android 6.0 is going to hit the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+, which are the latest of the Samsung Android devices. It doesn't seem like that deadline has been made for any carrier.

It was also mentioned that the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge would probably receive their Android update this month. Since the beta came earlier, perhaps Marshmallow will be out on the S6 and S6 Edge before the end of January.

Next in line on the update list for the rollout would be older versions of the Note, such as the Note Edge and the Note 4. Android 6.0 is expected to be seen on these devices by the end of February 2016. After that, the next Samsung devices scheduled for the update will be the Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7, and the Galaxy E5.

Furthermore, Latin Post stated on its article that the Samsung tablets are slated to obtain the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as well. This includes the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7, which will get the firmware on second quarter of the year.

If the leaks are to be believed, Samsung users are really in for a treat this new year. As usual, nothing is confirmed yet and official announcement is still awaited from the tech giant. Hopefully, some details about the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will be given soon.
