Apple Inc. is expected to unveil another member of it famous iPad family. Beliveed to be the iPad Air 3, the device is expected to debut on March this year without the iconic 3D Touch on its specification roundup.
According to Christian Today, the Apple iPad Air 3's release has long been deferred. Based on some reports before, the device was first speculated to hit the market last October. But since the prediction did not happen, an alternative rumor is now circulating that the upcoming version of the iPad may come out in March 2016.
This new release date is reportedly most likely due to Apple's upcoming Spring event happening in the first quarter of the year. If this is true, then the iPad Air 3 may be presented in March but might not see a public release until April.
Meanwhile, Christian Post cited a rumor claiming that the new iPad might not have any 3D Touch display feature. Analyst Kou points the production issues in Apple's supply chain as the main reason behind this speculation.
The Apple's 3D Touch is a pressure-sensing technology that lets users to quickly access shortcut menus or preview content within apps. For example, in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, users can swipe left or right to either delete or mark as unread message in Mail.
Those enthusiasts who have monitored the iPhone 6s release will remember that the company faced issues in terms of keeping up with demand. Kou also stated that the 3D Touch put Apple in one of the most severe production bottlenecks in iPhone 6s supply chain. It's really an issue that the American tech giant still needs to address, but the possibility of the feature in future iPad releases is still there.
Apart from the aforementioned features Australia Network stated some of the other features that the iPad Air 3 might sport. The upcoming iPad family member will most likely come with an A9X chip or even a next generation processor than the one the iPad Pro is equipped with, possibly an A10 chip.
As for the internal storage, it could start from 16 or 32GB and go all the way up to 128GB. It is also reasonable to predict an improved 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel or an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for FaceTime and selfies.
For now, these specifications should be taken as rumors onlu since official confirmation is yet to be given by Apple itself.
